In Greek mythology, the Prôtogenoi (pl.; Gr. Πρωτογενοι, sing. Protogenos) is a genealogy of primordial Greek gods, the name literally means "firstborn" or "primordial" and is a group of gods whose birth corresponds to the beginning. from the universe.
Protogenoi are the first entities or creatures to appear. They form the structure of the universe and are therefore eternal. The Protogenoi were a group of gods who were the descendants of all the other gods. They predate the Titans, descendants of Gaia and Uranus.
The primordial gods or "Protogenoi" in Greek mythology are the most basic components of the universe that fully emerged at the time of creation. They include Earth, Air, Sea, Sky, Fresh Water, Underworld, Darkness, Night, Light, Day, Procreation and Time.
Primordial Gods and Goddesses were the first gods/goddesses who existed without having to be born like Gaia (Mother Earth) and in another version it was Chaos which produced the first Titans and Titanesses.
It is a fundamental belief in Ancient Greek mythology that the world began from Chaos and, out of that chaos, order emerged in the form of the goddess Gaia who was known as a kind of Mother Earth figure. It is from him that order, pattern and unity are brought to the universe and it is to him that all life in the universe is credited.
On Mount Othrys, there are 12 of the most famous Titans who are the children of the primordial Gaia (earth mother) and Uranus (the sky father who was born from Gaia without a father).
Gaia and Uranus are giant gods with extraordinary power. They were the leaders of the legendary Golden Age, and also included the first line of Greek gods/goddesses.
Together, Gaia and Uranus gave birth to many of the major gods and creatures of Greek mythology. For example, they were the parents of the Titans, who overthrew Uranus and became rulers of the cosmos (until they, in turn, were usurped by the Olympians).
Even though the Titans look very great & strong, titans & gods who have ambitions in the wrong way will not escape the law of retribution (karma).
Like Cronus who overthrew his father Uranus because of his ambition to replace his father as leader, Cronus was overthrown by his children, namely The Big Three (Zeus, Poseidon and Hades) but in other versions it was only Zeus who overthrew Cronus and freed the brothers and sisters who were swallowed by him. Cronus.
